My Path to Portsmouth
I was born in New Jersey and raised in a small town in northeast Pennsylvania. Like many, I worked full-time while putting myself through college and graduate school — an experience that taught me the value of hard work and perseverance.
After weathering three boom-and-bust cycles in the Denver/Boulder area, I moved back east, building my career across Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine. For more than 20 years, New England has been both my workplace and my home.
Over 15 years ago, I was drawn to Portsmouth for its historic charm and sense of community. One of my earliest memories is attending the candlelight stroll at Strawbery Banke — snowflakes falling, the sound of carriage bells, the aroma of local cuisine, and historic homes glowing with warmth. In that moment, I knew Portsmouth was special.
As an avid outdoors enthusiast, I appreciate our city’s walkability, vibrant local events, and the simple constancy of the ocean tides. No matter what challenges the world brings, the tide reminds us that Portsmouth endures — steady, resilient, and full of character.
My Career Path
I am an Accounting and Finance professional with broad experience in accounting, budgeting, cash management/treasury, planning, and financial analysis across diverse industries, including biotech, banking, oil & gas, construction, manufacturing, aerospace & defense, logistics, medical equipment, and financial services.
I hold a BS in Accounting from Metropolitan State University and an MBA in Accounting/Finance from Regis University, building on an early AS degree in Marketing.
Over my career, I have served in roles ranging from Senior Accountant, Payroll Manager to Assistant Controller, Assistant Treasurer, and retiring as a Principal Financial Analyst.
In addition, I’ve given back to the community through volunteer work with AARP as a tax preparer and with Strawbery Banke events.
